Polyurethane Products

Polyurethane is a highly versatile elastomer that is used in countless applications around the world. The mechanical properties of polyurethane can be isolated and manipulated through creative chemistry, creating a range of unique problem-solving capabilities with performance characteristics unmatched by any other material. Our understanding of how to capitalize on these opportunities allows Precision Urethane to offer 'flexible solutions through polymer innovation.' Polyurethane is a plastic material, which exists in various forms. It can be tailored to be either rigid or flexible, and is the material of choice for a broad range of end-user applications such as: insulation of refrigerators and freezers. building insulation. cushioning for furniture.

Polyurethane formulations cover an extremely wide range of stiffness, hardness and density.

These materials include:
Flexible, low-density foams for use in upholstery, bedding, car and truck seats, and new inorganic plant substrates for gardens on roofs or walls
Low- and high-density elastomers for use in footwear
Rigid plastics for Use as electronic instruments Bezels and structural parts
Flexible plastics used as belts and bands
Cast and injection moulded components for various markets e.g. B. Agricultural, military, automotive, industrial, etc.
polyurethane foam is widely used in high resilience flexible foam seats, rigid foam insulation board, microcellular foam gaskets and gaskets, durable elastomer wheels and tires, car suspension bushings, electrical filler compounds, gaskets, gaskets, carpet underlays and hard plastic parts (such as z as with electronic instruments).

What is the purpose of using polyurethane?

Polyurethane coatings provide an ultra-thin layer of protection over a wide variety of materials, allowing for longer life and improved appearance. When installing a wooden floor, polyurethane preserves its appearance while protecting it from the elements (particularly water rot).

Does Polyurethane Make Wood Waterproof?

No, polyurethane does not waterproof hardwood, but it does waterproof it. Polyurethane protects hardwood. It repels water and prevents water absorption, but never completely blocks it, so it will never be 100% waterproof. Polyurethane also protects the wood from scratches and discoloration. And of course, it makes the wood look finished.

A single layer of polyurethane is not enough. Polyurethane is a thin, discontinuous layer (with smaller holes). Even minor scratches and abrasions will allow water to seep into the surface if you only have 1 coat. And of course, the wood expands and contracts to create more weak points.

When you upload greater coats of polyurethane (we commonly suggest 3), it makes the timber semi-impervious because the poly layer may be thicker and greater cohesive. The safety may be extra and it'll final longer…that means you won’t want to sand and refinish for an extended length of time.
